The novel probes the possibility of achieving psychological peace and distinguishes between illusion, memory, and real time. It explores the escape from pain and madness.

Inspired by two iconic American plays, A Streetcar Named Desire and Long Day’s Journey into Night,White Reality focuses on the perennial issue of the lack of genuine communication, beginning within the family and perpetuating a cycle of problematic characters influencing both society and family. This cycle persists as long as true love fails to manifest in actions. This novel is a poignant exploration of these themes, encapsulating the struggle for understanding and connection in a complex world.

I remember my first day of school first as a student and then as a teacher. I was even more nervous as a teacher. I knew the material. I understood what I was supposed to teach. But I felt unprepared. When I walked into that classroom, I had no idea how to get my kids to buy what I was selling. After two years of uncertainty and self-doubt, I decided to stop trying to be something I wasn’t. I started being me. No more referring to my class as students. They were now “my kids.” A wise, veteran teacher once told me, “Get your kids to love you and they will do whatever you ask.” That’s exactly what we did. We started building real connections with the kids and their parents. The kids bought in. A lot of the parents did too. This family environment created daily rewards for all of us. These daily rewards were the reason we all wanted to be there.

Why Did the Cheese Cross the Road?

How many ‘wheys’ can cheese make us laugh?

A favorite food around the world, makers of cheese must have learned long ago that their work had a comedic life of its own! This is nowhere more evident than when you unite cheese with word play. For, in addition to being a marvelous product shared by cheeseheads seemingly everywhere, an increasingly valuable by-product of cheese making is whey. Indeed, when you combine cheesey cheese jokes with other word play and mix in some cheesey geography – as I do here to illustrate cheese’s international scope – you find that you soon have a chapter on ‘whey’ itself (not to mention its cousins in the name of cheese humor, ‘way’ and ‘weigh’). So as I serve up the funny side of cheese here, don’t simply “say cheese.” Rather, please remember to let yourself laugh - and laugh lots because one good cheese joke deserves another!

Wildlife on a Warming Earth

This engaging narrative about the harm global warming inflicts on wildlife is meant for a broad audience, people concerned about the climate crisis but without the time to read lengthy books with lots of scientific jargon. Written in an easy-to-read style, the story will appeal to teenagers and adults of all ages and education levels.

The story begins by introducing the narrator, Greta, an intrepid Carolina chickadee. Greta succinctly explains how all of nature is connected and why humans need to learn to respect the natural world on which they depend. The reader will learn how extreme weather events and a warming planet are harming some of Greta’s friends and other wild creatures on earth and in the sky and sea.

Greta admonishes us humans for creating a mess that only we can fix. But she is an optimist and appeals to the majority of people, those who listen to the better angels of their nature, to lead us into the sunshine.

Readers should come away with a sense of urgency, an appreciation of the dire consequences of a rapidly warming planet, a realization that they can make a difference, and above all with hope for a better future.

Hey Mom and Dad, I guess you are looking for an imaginative book to read to your kids. I hope this book will take you back to your childhood when playing was generated by your wild imagination. The kids could go for a wild ride with Mom and Dad through a make-believe land where the words and pictures paint a portrait that will stick in your minds. When the stress of work and school may occupy your mind, you will remember this book, and it will bring a smile to your face. It is so important to remember how to be a child once again, and to make it a total adventure for your kids to read or listen to a book being read. I hope that light will stay lit in your hearts forever. Maybe someday when you are a grandparent, you will see the true importance of how children’s books ignite the imagination.
