Book Signing for Derek and the Little Duck by Bobbi Jo De Pauw

The Book Store, Appleton will be hosting a book signing event for Children’s book Derek and the Little Duck on September 7th, 2019. At the event, Author Bobbi Jo De Pauw will be signing copies of her Children’s novel. Derek and the Little Duck is an interesting read for children. It is about a young boy who goes out fishing on the first day of summer. There Derek forms an unlikely friendship. The story of this unexpected friendship and the care and kindness of friends is the main theme prevailing throughout the novel. Bobbi Jo De Pauw was born in Wisconsin. She is the mother of two boys. She started to write poetry at the age of 17 years. She wrote her first children’s book in 2001 and always aspired to get her work published.

Therese Park came to the U.S. in October 1966 to work with the Kansas City Philharmonic in its cello section. She retired after 30 years and began her writing career. Her first novel A Gift of the Emperor was published in 1997. The novel was about Korean sex slaves. Park has also been a featured author at three national book fairs in 1998. Park’s second novel When a Rooster Crows at Night is based on her own experience as a child who experienced the three-year war (1950–1953). Her third book The Northern Wind: Forced Journey to North Korea is the story of an 18-year-old war orphan who becomes a South Korean spy having a mission to complete. Park has also written columns for The Kansas City Star-Opinion Page and the Star-Johnson County Neighborhood News. She has three daughters and four grandchildren.
