Veterans Today features the book ‘FLC Legal: The War in Vietnam that was Never Reported’

The ‘Veteran Today’ posted an article about the Richard Franks’ latest book ‘FLC Legal: The War In Vietnam that was Never Reported’. The book is about the untold stories of the Vietnam War from the perspective of young trial lawyers who spent nearly a year into training to become the Marine Corps infantry officers. They were appointed in the city of Da Nang as prosecutors and defense lawyers and trialed in different court-martial cases that ranged from sleeping on posts to multiple murders. FLC Legal exposes the indescribable cases of several murder trials, a racial grenade throwing and the surprise appearance of one of the defense lawyers to defend one of the grenade throwers. This book includes stories of soldiers who saved their lives by following direct orders, soldiers who were arrested for sleeping on the posts, following by sodomy case and the black market dealing in American Gear. While it was the time of chaos in Vietnam, these Marine lawyers did a remarkably well job over there and have lived all the way to tell the stories about it. The author, Richard Franks after serving in the Marine Corps became a state court judge in Missouri. He became a General Counsel for a local construction company in Springfield, MO.
