Techné, a Leading Journal, Reviewed George Towner’s Book

George Towner’s mind-blowing research study put together as a book titled Thinking Like a Computer received an amazing review by Techné: Research in Philosophy and Technology. The review came out in the January/February 2021 issue of the journal. Written by Sasha Niehorster-Cook, the book review extended over 4 pages and elaborated in detail the methodology and findings of Towner’s study on how computers imitate life. The review praised the book for its clear communication and well-understood jargon: “Though the topics and ideas that Towner covers are vast, I had no trouble understanding his arguments. This is a refreshing break from many philosophical works, which can be opaque or require a massive amount of prerequisite knowledge to approach.” Read the complete review here. Towner’s independent study took 30 years to complete. He studied logic and philosophy and applied his education to many areas of research, working with different institutes. Working initially in the field of Biology, he later switched to Information Technology and brought forward this landmark research on computers and how this technology takes us to the core of digging human knowledge. The research takes up the questions of both computers and human beings side by side, leading to some convincing explanation for the behaviors of both.  Grab a copy of Thinking Like a Computer now!
