‘Tall Tales Bookstore’ hosted a book signing ceremony for Maxene Dell Raices’ ‘The Land of Sunshine & Hell’

The ‘Tall Tales Bookstore’ at Atlanta held a book signing ceremony to feature Maxene Raices’ book, ‘The Land of Sunshine and Hell’. The author was present at the event for the promotion of her book and answered the audience’s queries about the book. ‘The Land of Sunshine and Hell’ is a story of the times of war when things were heating up before the Vietnam War in 1964 and Maxene was just finishing her high school at that time. Her boyfriend was and Italian-American guy named as Romolo who was a pre-med student at the Columbia University. During these days she found out that she was pregnant just before her boyfriend left for Germany for his draft in the Army. Maxene’s harsh journey started when she had to hide the truth and had to give up her child. She opted for abortion with a very heavy and aching heart. They got married after four years and moved to Germany where they enticed themselves with the thrill of marijuana-induced haze without realizing the pain of giving up their first unborn child to the norms of the society. The author, Maxene Dell Raices is a very talented and well-qualified author. She completed her masters in Adult Education from the University of Toronto. She has a B.A degree in English and is also has a minor in Education from the State University of New York. She and her husband Lee enjoy a close relationship with their blended family and now live in Alpharetta, GA.
