Richard Franks Stops by KSMU Radio Station

Richard Franks was invited to speak about his book ‘FLC Legal – The War in Vietnam that was Never Reported’ on the KSMU radio station. The book details his experiences as a Lawyer involved with the US Marines during the height of the Vietnam War. Because of circumstance out of his control, Richard found himself attached to the US Marine Corps as a lawyer. He had to go through the rigorous training to become an infantry officer and was sent to Da Nang, the Republic of Vietnam in 1969. As a lawyer, he had to act as a prosecutor or defense attorney in cases ranging from sleeping on a post to murder. The lawyers did their job very well and came out of the war alive. The stories told in the book are unbelievable and show a side of the war that has not been seen before. They will definitely surprise readers and reveal the aspect of the war that doesn’t get talked about enough. The author came back from Vietnam and became a state court judge. He practiced law for a while and then accepted a general counsel job with a construction company. He currently lives and practices law in Denver.
