
Laurie Anne Zaleski’s Book Nominated for American Book Fest’s “2020 Annual ‘Best Book’ Awards”
We are delighted to inform that our author, Laurie Anne Zaleski’s book, A Young Person’s Field Guide to Finding Lost Shipwrecks, was recently nominated for American Book Fest’s “2020 Annual ‘Best Book’ Awards” and served as a finalist in two categories: Children’s Non-Fiction and Young Adult: Fiction. Zaleski’s book, A Young Person’s Field Guide to Finding Lost Shipwrecks, is a tale about ocean exploration, navigation, and finding lost treasure. It features a marine archeological expedition that highlights the lives of the crew onboard and the operations aboard the 37-meter research vessel called the Hercules. The book attempts at explaining the scientific research and the technology involved in the marine expedition. It offers a delightful account of the journey that begins at the Cadiz dock in Spain with a diverse crew on board who are all searching for Santisima. Get a copy of the book here.
Laurie Anne Zaleski is not only a writer but a marine geologist who conducts geophysical surveys. Her role as a marine geologist made her travel extensively on foot, by ship, and by plane. This is her first book that signifies her love for science and exploration. She is a member of the EAGE (Women in Geoscience and Engineering) and AGU (American Geophysical Union). She firmly believes that you can contribute positively to the community by following what you love.
