Our author Kimberly Barrett, Ph.D. appeared on THE KOSH Podcast to talk about her memoir “Rethinking Race”. The interview gave listeners a chance to hear about her career in higher education and inclusion that shaped her understanding of race and belonging. 

Rethinking Race is a memoir about family, identity and antiracism. The book tells the story of an African-American mother and her husband who is identified by many as white but is a citizen of an Indigenous tribal nation as they help their son develop a positive multiethnic identity. The book talks about how a race is created and lived in daily life.  

Dr. Kimberly Barrett is a writer, consultant and award-winning academic who has spent her career promoting adult learning, development, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. She has held senior roles in universities in the U.S. and Canada and also worked as a counselor while contributing as a columnist and commentator.
