It’s OK to be Anxious by Hannah Safferman Featured in Newspaper

The State News interviewed Michigan State student Hannah Safferman regarding her recently released children’s book, It’s OK to be Anxious. During the interview, Hannah said that her goal in publishing the book was to help children be able to express their feelings and know that they are not alone in the emotions they may be experiencing on a daily basis. “It is a topic that I think that is very important and a lot of people won’t touch,” she said. “I am doing it to help children. I don’t care that much about being becoming famous or any of that — I just want to help children who are struggling with anxiety through this book. I want to reach out to them and let them know that it is okay” she says in the interview. ‘It’s OK to be Anxious’ explores the topic of anxiety and feeling anxious in a fun and easy to grasp way for young readers to understand. While the book is targeted to 3 and 4-year-olds, Hannah said the book is suitable for children of all ages. The storyline focuses on topics such as anxiety and feelings that can be difficult to discuss with children. Hannah Safferman lives in Michigan with her family, whose support has helped her on every step of life. She also loves the two family dogs that live with them.
