We are proud to announce our partnership with The American Booksellers Association and IndieBound, a not-for-profit organization that helps get amazing books where they belong: within Independent booksellers shelves.

It is no secret that in today's society, Independent local bookstores are quickly going out of business with very few managing to stay open for more than a year. IndieBound, now in their 10th year, creates opportunities and resources for stores all over America; providing useful education about the industry in all areas including products and services.

As one of the biggest organizations that support independent, local businesses, we could not be more proud of joining the American Booksellers Associations ranks to help support an industry that is quickly disappearing to large conglomerates.

Our International Publishing Director Jade Robertson stated, “As an Independent Hybrid Publishers ourselves, we understand the complexities of entering such a convoluted space. All industries change and evolve over time, the advancements in technology and communication have been wonderful to the publishing industry and have helped breathe authors creations to life. Austin Macauley themselves rely on such evolvements, so that we may share stories from all over the world. However, that does not mean we can forget the past. A big part of the company’s ethos is to cultivate and grow independent authors within the industry and Independent booksellers are at the heart. Many people first fall in love with books within those unique and characterful spaces and we are dedicated to protecting them and helping them not only survive but thrive.”

So, what does this mean for our Publishing house as a whole? By collaborating with the American Booksellers Association more Austin Macauley titles will start appearing on the shelves. Through the Red Box Mailing, The White Box Mailing and The Quarterly Kid’s Mailings, Independent Booksellers who use the services provided are given access to the long and varied list of authors we collaborate with; allowing for their wonderful books to start appearing in areas that may have been overlooked before.

This partnership truly shows the very evolution of hybrid publishing as it becomes more accepted and respected in the industry helping to support writers both new and established as well as representing the trends of the industry as it takes steps to protect the establishments that has helped it become what it is today.
