Grief in Common Blog featured N.T. Keahon’s book ‘Owed to My Mother’
Karyn, the Founder of Grief in Common Blog, featured N.T. Keahon’s book, ‘Owed to My Mother.’ She writes, “There are a lot of books on grief and loss, but this one has a different take. Instead of a self-help model, this book is written as historical fiction, to help make it both relatable and readable”. She continues to outline what the book is about and also includes an excerpt from it to give the readers a sneak peek of, ‘Owed to My Mother’.
This book is much relatable chronological fiction, based on a true story, and nothing represents that fact better than the sacrifices made between this mother and her child. Nadine, a smart efficient woman, quickly ascending the professional ladder, had just achieved the next level of her success, and just moved in the company’s illustrious complex outside of San Francisco, CA. Right when she was getting hold of her new position, she learns that her mother’s cancer is now stage 4 and she’s forced to make a choice between her rapidly flourishing career or going to be with her mother. She chooses her mother and the story that follows is filled with profound humor, ridiculous sarcasm and examples of their eternal love.
N. T. Keahon currently lives with her adorable dog, Joaquin, in beautiful Northern California. She really enjoyed writing her first novel and she already has the title for her second novel, which is called Sperm Donor; and possibly a third novel about a young girl’s journey of finding the true meaning of love which takes her from Africa to the other side of the world. N. T. Keahon believes that life is way too short to live with any regrets!
