The Boy Refugee is the story of a young boy who finds himself at the crossroads of his fate. This is a poignant story of pain, despair, tragedy, brutality, oppression, chaos—and paradoxically of compassion, inspiration, and hope. It documents the events leading to the Civil War, the Indo-Pak War, his escape from Bangladesh, his days and nights in an internment camp set up by the Indian Army in the foothills of the Himalayas and his eventual return to Pakistan. In this memoir, the writer has included his and his family’s experiences, and where necessary, has the testimonials of those who witnessed this unfortunate episode firsthand.
