Our author, Christine Thelker’s book, For This I am Grateful, was prominently featured by Dementia Connections’ “4 Books to Read Today” on Tuesday, November 10th, 2020. Once diagnosed with the illness, Christine joined the Dementia Alliance International, DAI, where she met other patients and immediately started working on her condition with the healthcare professionals. This inspired her, and she began Dementia Advocacy. The book offers insight to all those suffering from dementia and how to live with it without feeling neglected or depressed. Her experiences that she narrated in the book are a strong aid for those looking to fight with the illness. In her free time, she likes to spend quality time with her dog, visit her family and friends, and enjoys gardening.
