Thelker’s book, For This I Am Grateful, discusses her struggles with dementia and how she managed to overcome the illness with determination and confidence. The book aims at helping others fight the mental disease, allowing them to look at life with a positive perspective. As soon as she was diagnosed with dementia, Christine joined the Dementia Alliance International, DAI, where she worked on her illness with the rest of the staff and affectees. There she learnt that life with dementia can be wonderful too. The insight led her to begin dementia advocacy and put all her experiences in a memoir for others to get inspired. Grab your copy of the memoir here.
