Our distinguished author, Christine Thelker, was recently interviewed on the Dementia Dialogue podcast on Monday, November 9th, 2020. The interview piece hones in on how Christine’s book, For This I am Grateful, evolved from a personal journal to a blog and eventually to a book that was published in June 2020. The conversation explores themes of gratitude and grief, taking care of oneself, and advocacy. They also talk about Christine’s decision to “go public” with her writing and the close link this decision had, with her becoming involved with dementia advocacy, especially, through Dementia Alliance International. The diagnosis soon led her to Dementia Alliance International, DAI where she found that life, even with dementia is beautiful. She got to understand that life had a whole new purpose and meaning.
