‘Bookworm Powder Springs’ hosted the book signing ceremony of Maxene Raices’ ‘The Land of Sunshine & Hell’

‘The Bookworm bookstore in Powder Springs’ organized a book signing ceremony in honor of Maxene Dell Raices’ book, ‘The Land of Sunshine & Hell’. She promoted her lovely story at the Farmer’s Market in Powder Springs, GA! This is an autobiography and memoir of a young woman, Maxene who was stuck in the storm of love and the society. She fell in love with an Italian- American guy, Romolo who was drafted in German Army at the times of Vietnam War in 1964. Maxene discovers that she is pregnant but has to hide this fact from the society as this was her child who was to be born out of wedlock. She has to give up her child for abortion which was an extremely painful decision that she has to make. Her boyfriend returns from the war after four years and both of them get married. They move to Germany and start their life there without realizing the pain of giving up their unborn child. Their life was not less than a constant sorrow. The author, Maxene Dell Raices is a graduate of the University of Toronto in Adult Communication. She is B.A in English and a minor degree holder in Education from the State University of New York. She has an English teacher, manager in human resources and account assistant for several human resource firms. She now lives in Alpharetta, GA with her husband and extended family.
