Valerie Drees attended a book signing of ‘The Burden of Truth’ at the Newport News Main Street Library (110 Main St, Newport News, VA 23601). The event went very well, especially considering there were over 50 local authors there, spread all over two floors of the building. Family secrets are something every family is familiar with. Such secrets are buried deep down somewhere and although they are just out there, no one ever talks about them. They are to be hushed down and brushed under the carpet or must lay hidden and forbidden in closets. Tori Daniels stumbles across such a secret and realizes this is something she needs to protect even with her life if she must. Thus, she lives with the burden of truth on her shoulders and in her heart. Valerie Drees lived most of her life in California before relocating to Virginia. She has worked for a bank, a senior school and a community college. Now she finally has time for writing, which she always hoped to adopt as a full-time career one day. She has published her first thriller novel and plans on writing more.
