Donald Yackel spoke at the North Indian River County Library about the paddling adventures highlighted in his book, The Idling Bulldozer and other Paddling Adventures. He had a great turnout with 30 people in attendance and sold 10 books at the event! The book holds ten paddling adventure stories from different locations across the US and Canada. In each adventure, the Donald is surrounded by nature offering whatever circumstances the natural world presents, ranging from beautiful, deep transcendent moments, too cold, wet, frightening or attacked by swarms of bugs. Born under the zodiac sign, Aquarius Donald D. Yackel, spent his life around the water, in the boats and by the sides of Lakes. From spending long hours with his grandfather at Oneida Lake during summers to canoe camping and finally, kayaking and building a sailboat and a kayak.
