
Barnes & Noble Arranged a Book Signing Ceremony for Maxene Raices
A book signing ceremony was held at Barnes & Noble in Georgia where the book ‘The Land of Sunshine and Hell’ was presented. The book is written by Maxene Dell Raices. Her book signing was a smashing success as she sold out 11 books at the event.
This book tells the story of the time of Vietnam War, when things were heating up between Washington and Indochinese Peninsula. Maxene was just finishing her high school at that time when she fell in love with Romolo who was an Italian-American student of pre-med at Columbia University.
Maxene discovers that she is pregnant and her boyfriend had to leave for Germany as he was drafted in the Army. This begins a very harsh journey for Maxene and her unborn child. She had to give up her child for abortion which was a very painful decision for her to make. She marries Romolo after four years and they move to Germany without realizing the pain of giving up their first unborn child.
The author, Maxene Dell Raices has a masters in Adult Communication from the University of Toronto. She also has a B.A degree in English and her minor was education from the State University of New York. She has worked in Education, Management and Accounts departments. She currently resides in Alpharetta with her husband.
