On October 11th, 2025, author Jess Leibson held a delightful signing event for her latest children’s book, Kit the Keystone. Readers gathered to meet Jess and receive signed copies of the story that celebrates nature, courage, and friendship. 

Kit the Keystone follows the journey of Kit, a baby beaver who discovers they are a keystone species—able to shape ecosystems and create habitats for other animals. When an invasive plant threatens Stillwater Pond, Kit and their best friend, Benny the Green Treefrog, must protect their home and help the pond’s creatures find a new one. Their adventure becomes a powerful tale of bravery, teamwork, and environmental responsibility. 

Jess Leibson is a certified Master Naturalist and currently serves as an Economic Recovery Corps Fellow, promoting outdoor recreation. She holds a master’s degree in Community Economic Development and brings over 20 years of experience in writing, editing, and marketing, including work with multiple Fortune 500 companies.
