Our esteemed author, James Arnett, was interviewed for a TVO special, The Agenda with Steve Paikin, about his book, Bean Fate. During the interview, they talked about the history behind writing the true crime novel, the characters involved in the story, and the writing experience that came with the book. Bean Fate is a true crime novel about the prohibition era where a young cop is investigating a murder at a Canadian border town. Upon investigation, he stumbles upon a conspiracy in the liquor business between the politicians and the Chicago Mob. Suddenly, he is pulled from the case to cover the scheme before turning rogue to investigate the murder. Read more about the story here.
James Arnett was born and raised in Winnipeg and graduated from the University of Manitoba and Harvard Law School. James had a successful career before writing his first fiction novel. James was a corporate lawyer, government advisor, and Chair of an Ontario public utility. He lives with his wife, Alix, in Toronto.
