The amazing author of Mamma and Me, Bessie Emily Coleman, received a full month feature by the Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative’s website. Mamma and Me is a collection of poetry of two extraordinary women portraying the African-American thoughts and culture. Vesta Coleman was a teacher, poet, pianist, and a respected community leader. Her daughter Elizabeth Emily Coleman is an ordained Minister and has traveled the world. Born in Alabama, Elizabeth (née Bessie) Emily Coleman moved to Ohio to complete her BA degree. After her graduation, she started her teaching career and later switched her profession to Employment Interviewer with the State of Alabama. She is an ordained Minister in the Presbyterian Church, USA.
