Austin Macauley participated in three book conventions simultaneously in New York throughout May and June.  With recently being named one of the ‘Fastest Growing Publishers by Publisher’s Weekly, we were keen to meet with new booksellers, bloggers, distributors, authors and the media to discuss further ventures at Book Expo and Bookcon. Our aim was to bring the best stories from all over the world to showcase in New York, and we proudly achieved this.

Both of the conventions were coordinated by ReedPOP, the same organizers for the famed New York Comic Con – where floods of dressed up comic fans come to celebrate the comic world!

Although Bookcon is not entirely the same, the platform was perfect for us to connect with more readers in New York and showcase our wealth of talented authors and their books. The goal of the events was to create an atmosphere where all aspects of the publishing industry can collide to create new and exciting opportunities for authors and readers alike, which was definitely the outcome we had.

In just over a year, we have proudly gained significant ground in the region and many recognized us whilst walking past our stand.

The third event in our journey was the New York Rights Fair (NYRF), which took place at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18^th Street in New York City.

The New York Rights Fair played host to rights buyers for print, digital, audio, film and television industry. With such potential in our catalogue of books, it was important to meet with new industry professionals to further support our authors in every avenue possible.

To conclude our journey, it was a successful, challenging and fun week for the team and we look forward to returning to all three events in 2019…see you there.
