Austin Macauley at PubTechConnect 2018
In March, Publishers Weekly and NYU’s Center for Publishing organised the second PubTechConnect event and Austin Macauley Publishers was honored to be a part of it. The event took place at the NYU Kimmel Center for University Life in NYC.
The purpose of this year’s event was to get publishers to adopt digital technologies and make them a part of their business.
Having embraced digital publishing a long time ago, we recognise the need for transformation in the book industry, i.e., the inclusion of more digital technology.
Thinking digital first and adopting new age marketing strategies has become progressively important.
The speakers at the event also covered topics like book trailers, events and how the book should be promoted in these ways.
Another big part of PubTechConnect 2018 was the movie information session. The speakers explained what the T.V. networks and film studios are looking for and that they are actively in search of good stories to tell; especially ones that can be transferred from book to screen effectively.
The event was wrapped up with final thoughts and outlining the importance of having a digital presence is essential for book publishers.
We, at Austin Macauley Publishers, know the value digital technology can offer to us and this is why we have maintained an active presence online.
The event illuminated new avenues for us to explore and presented us with an abundance of knowledge. We will surely adopt some of them, to give our authors and books the best chance in this competitive industry.
