Alysen Bayles's first children's book, Winston, follows the story of a dog who befriends rabbits instead of chasing them. The book was inspired by Bayles pet dog, Nipper. Silly Sam From Galapagos Land is her second book, released earlier this year. It revolves around an unlikely friendship between Silly Sam the cat and Myrtle the Turtle in Galapagos Land. Alysen Bayles is the pen name for author Laurel Stevenson. She was born and raised in Barre Mills, Wisconsin, and has worked in litigation for many years in the midwestern states. Bayles now works in alternative dispute resolution in Kansas City. She is passionate about writing, nature, and animals, and turns to these to relieve stress.
