Austin Macauley's very talented author, Adel Guindy, was featured in an editorial by Independent Catholic News for his wonderful book, A Sword Over the Nile: A Brief History of the Copts Under Islamic Rule. The article was published on Wednesday, 2nd September, and extracted from Lord David Alton's full story, which can be read here.    Alton praises Guindy’s perspective and the significance of his knowledge of the Copts. Referring to Guindy’s work, the article states, “The harrowing story of the Copts illustrates what happens when religious and political leaders fail to embrace the fundamental importance of freedom of religion and belief. The West needs to be aware of the implications of ignoring this central challenge.”   A Sword Over the Nile: A Brief History of the Copts Under Islamic Rule is a historical, timely, and authoritative account of Egypt’s Copts, targeted as part of a bloody and systematic campaign of genocide against the ancient churches of the Middle East.
