Before the tempest roared to life, the grandmother’s eyes were fixed upon a distant glow amidst the clouds. With a knowing sigh, she murmured, “The time has finally come.”

As Batis extinguished his birthday candles, an ethereal whisper emerged from the dissipating smoke. An ancient voice beckoned him towards an unseen path.

With a celestial threat looming, Batis must embark on a quest – fleeing from sky-born pursuers who seek him. Guided by his grandmother, who unlocks a suitcase brimming with tales and truths, their adventure unfolds.

Dive into a world where myths breathe and destiny is written in the stars.

there's no doubt (this is just my humble opinion!) that the illustrations are complemented by a delicate pen that almost immediately draws the reader into a poetic world of your own, and one that you're undoubtedly steeped in. Beyond the story itself, there's a spontaneity and authenticity that adults often lose with age, and which you've managed to retain. This cocktail invites us to discover, through Bâtis's journey, a part of your soul, and every line carries us along in this adventure where poetry, twists and turns, surprises, innocence, strong emotions, learning and magic all come together. Even if the universe in which Bâtis evolves is magical, it in no way prevents the characters from confronting the hazards of life, as well as divergent views and perceptions of events, and the clock that reminds us that everything can be counted in minutes or seconds, but that a second can become an eternity when a feeling of fear, anxiety or threat punctuates your journey. Bâtis fights, encounters good and evil, learns along the way what we all have to learn one day, everything is gained, everything is lost, and all that remains are good or bad memories, dreams that sometimes merge with reality. In this respect, The Little Traveller from the Magic Land has all the attributes of universality. Stéphane Théri
