A MYSTERIOUS LETTER IGNITES

AN EXPLOSIVE CHAIN OF EVENTS FROM

THE SOUTH CAROLINA LOWCOUNTRY

TO THE OUTER BANKS.

An execution-style murder next to the Port of Charleston triggers an intensive police investigation to find a killer. In an apparently unrelated incident a year later, three complete strangers each receive an anonymous letter offering a financial windfall with a detailed set of instructions…and an ominous threat for failing to comply.

The strangers must travel alone from Charleston to Daufuskie Island off the coast of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Hoping to find answers, they instead become pawns in a clever and elaborate scheme planned by the ruthless boss of a Miami drug cartel.

When Detective Steve Harris finally discovers the crucial link between the murder and the missing strangers, he launches a frantic race against time, the cartel, and a deadly hurricane, to find them before they disappear for good.

Art Zimmerman was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, and grew up in the nearby rural town of Aston as the oldest of seven children. After graduating with a B.A. in Journalism from Penn State University, he began a lifelong career in the advertising agency business in Pittsburgh and later New York City, before moving to Charleston, South Carolina, and starting his own ad agency. An avid runner, he has finished 40 marathons, which are featured in his book One Runner's Personal Journey published in 2020. Art and his wife, Kathy, currently reside in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Just finished The Letter. It was BRILLIANT and RIVETING!! There were so many characters that I literally had a list of their names and roles to help me keep track! Yet you were able to connect the dots with all of them. Unbelievable character development and relationships. I felt that I really knew the main characters. What fun being from Mt. Pleasant and being familiar with lots of names/places. A complicated story that was executed beautifully. Some of my favorite parts- WSB initials, Teddy's real last name, the introduction and impact of Hurricane Florence and how clever that Mt. Joseph should spend the rest of his life in Florence, Colorado, Emily asking Steve to walk her down the aisle, Emily's note for Mr. Jamison, and the thank you event at T.W. Graham. I must admit lots of anxiety and then crying at the end- so relieved and happy that Emily, Chuck and John were okay and that the justice system prevailed!!
