Caring, friendly, kind and lovely – these are all attributes that describe Julie. Yet, so are the words desperate, grieving, lonely and purposeless.

Coming to a crossroad in her life faster than expected, Julie relies on her faith for the strength to make it through. Dealing with the passing of her husband, she finds her daily existence swallowed by grief and doesn’t feel ready to embrace life again. However, God seems to have a different plan. He is able to use unexpected people in unusual ways to intervene in Julie’s life, reminding her that she is not alone. Will Julie choose to let others in and learn how to cope with the loss of a loved one? Or will she stay trapped in her grief, watching her days pass by?

Tammy captures the realization of losing someone you love and the hope of learning to live again! Loss is one of the most difficult seasons in a persons life, not only the absent of the loved one but also coping with the flood of emotions that seem to spawn over time. She beautifully illustrates each character and immediately the reader is drawn into their story of desperation, anger, sadness, loneliness, which gives way to hope, joy, peace and even laughter. An absolute must read!

When I started this story, I thought I was here for the romance that would redeem the pain. But I got so much more. The richness of friendship that shapes the course of this river called life, the strength found in relationships, and the promises of God. With rich scripture references sprinkled throughout, prayers that made me want to pray for these characters, and pain and love and laughter and struggle and healing all woven beautifully together, this story is deeply moving. I laughed. I cried. I hoped. I hurt. I am so grateful that I read this beautiful story!

A romantic touching story! Really enjoyed this read. I usually prefer non-fiction but I had to find out how the story turned out!
