Reading books with different narration approaches always fantasizes me. I had read and reviewed one of Tyler Harrison’s books before. “I Couldn’t Find Her” is of a different level altogether. Basically, it’s a poetic collection which coveys us a fictional story of Tyler characterizing himself with a girl called Lucy. It felt like a story more rather than any sort of poetic collection. And every lines should be read with utmost attention, as each has its own emotional accent. The protagonist of the story is Tyler who hails from a family where he had an abusive father who would always torment his brothers and his mother. Then he meets Lucy, the love of his life. To know what happens thereafter and to know his life, please have a read. What I Liked most about this book that the author put his entire emotions writing each and every lines of this book. The realness of the emotions and the emotional effects of domestic violence would definitely touch our heart and make you disheartening. Good and unique content altogether. A must-read!
The Title of the book made me keen to read this book. I thought it would be a Thriller but to my surprise, it's an autobiography. The book is the life history of the author. Though it says that it's a collection of poems but it's not much of a poem. It's a complete novel type. Tyler and his brother are a captive of child abuse. Their mother is also harrassed by their father. The author has suffered a lot in his childhood but never lost his hope and confidence. He has tried his best to overcome the fear and has made a decision to help others to grow. There he met with LUCY who is a film director. They both have suffered a lot which makes them close to each other and unique. The book is full of inspirational poetry and thoughts. A great effort has been by the author by putting up his emotions & pain in words. A commendable job. Though it's an autobiography but the language is easy. It's a medium-paced book so take your time to read it. This can be picked up by fiction, nonfiction, or poem lovers too. It can be read by everyone as it's a type of memoir which will make you laugh, cry, and will inspire you.
I have always been a lover of autobiographies and memoirs. And this book which is a collection of poems about true incidents has really impressed me. To talk about the book, It is the experience of the author Tyler and his lady love, Lucy. The author begins the book by saying, " I am writing it because I believe that my story needs to be heard so I can impact millions of people's lives for the liberation of others".I believe this book has served its purpose. The life of the author is not a bed full of roses. He has faced so many struggles that are evident in every single poem. He shares his experience with Lucy in turn she tells her own incidents in life. The feeling they had for each other turned into a beautiful love. They had suffered a lot but still, they had each other to rely on. The author has discussed love, harassment, suffering, abuse, and hope. He discussed how people were jealous and developed hatred in their own race. He has touched upon several contemporary issues too. As it is poetry every single word adds beauty to the book. Though it is poetry, it would be easy for anyone to read. The cover is so good. I just loved the book!
I Couldn't Find Her So I Created Her is written by Tyler Harrison. It is about the author's life story. In short, it is the autobiography of the author itself. The flow of the book is really amazing. The narration made me feel that the author has definitely put in a lot of effort in framing each and every sentence of the book. The author speaks about the situations of his childhood. The trauma and obstacles he faced while growing up, the toxic and abusive relationship his mother went through touched me a little. The story reached heights when his father tried killing his brother. That is when his mother left his father. The difficulties follow even after that. And you know what is the best part and lesson of the book? It is the POSITIVITY that the author carries even after facing so much in life. And that is what I have learned from the story of the author, to shine even in my darkest days. Indeed a beautiful read. I loved the narration done by the author. A perfect book with lucid language and a catchy title. Also, the cover looks attractive. Waiting to read more from the author.
Before going into this novel, it's important to go in with no expectations and an open mind. There is not much structure and organization, it's more like taking the most beautiful colors of paint and throwing it at the canvas. I felt this worked, maybe some won't like it. But if you surrender yourself to just reading this and allow it to take you wherever it wants to, you will learn so much! Tyler uses storytelling, poetry, Hip Hop, and many forms of creative writing to ENCOURAGE the reader with hopes to end human suffering. Tyler has been through many forms of abuse, trauma, heartbreak, rejection, betrayal, and still managed to maintain his childlike spirit about him. That's the highlight for me. The author could have chosen to be bitter and decided that he was going to "Choose Love". That's heart! I could feel his joy for creative writing as I read his words, he cares more about the positive impact than the money. This book has countless gems and the champion mindset that everybody needs to take in. It's a good book and I feel it's only up from here!
When I read this blurb, I got more interest to read this book. "I Couldn't Find Her So I Created Her" by Tyler Harrison is an excellent book full of the author's life experiences. The book is basically written with the author's personal experiences and that's the reason you will find each and every part so real and connecting. The story has been told in poems- he described how he meets Lucy, he shared about his faith in God, how he was traumatized and abused at one point in life, how he finds love and hope, and how he overcomes fears and moved on. I felt like I was reading the Author's life story. The plot talks about trauma and tragedy and there is no one who doesn't face any trauma in their life and I am sure if you pick up this book, you couldn't put it down. I appreciate the Author that he shared his experience through this book. His imagination skills, creativity, and writing style are very good. This is a page-turner book which will inspire you and encourage you. I recommend this book to everyone because for me it was a self-help book and I feel like everyone should read this.
This book is dipped from the first page to the end with so much love and tenderness despite the many tragedies in between. The idea of faith that this book presents to us is very impactful and insightful. It made me reflect a moment on how my faith is progressing and just how much I am devoted to my life. The story of the author's life made me empathetic and brought about a look back in life, and a walk through memory lane. The author has been through so much in one lifetime, and through this book, he wants the whole world to realize that not everything is difficult and impossible. He shows us that we need to keep our heads held high and be optimistic towards the future because no matter how bad things were, that is exactly how good they are going to be. Through the author's suffering, he has shown us that life is beautiful and worth living every moment of it because we only get one life to live, literally speaking. There is so much that this book talked about, from mental issues to abuse to genetic disorders. Do give it a read to find out more.
“I am writing it because I believe my story needs to be heard so I can impact millions of people’s lives for the liberation of others.” The book contains many autobiographical elements of the author. The story revolves around the struggles the author goes through in his life. He falls in love with a girl named Lucy but his journey is not smooth and even. A lot of adversities cover his life to sink him down in deep distress. Surprisingly he still believes in God no matter how tough his life appears to be. The book begins with lots of biblical quotes, the book also includes different kinds of biblical allusions. This is an interesting read as well as the hero. It feels like the journey of a person in order to seek meaning in his life. The book is rich with philosophy and spiritual thoughts. The elements of surrealism are present all over the story. We some doubt whether the protagonist suffers from oneirataxia. The thing that made me read the book is nothing other than the title. There's something hidden in the title. I loved this fantastic story.
