If you have not read or know anything about the legends of the Chocolate Hills in the Philippines and its tarsiers (species of small leaping primates found only on some of Southeast Asia islands, including the Philippines), then before you read even one more sentence in the book, you should know that the young Danilo, a son of a poor fisher, went along his friend Carlo on what they thought a fun trip to the Chocolate Hills in pursuit of free chocolates.

This supposedly one-day fun trip to the hills through the beautiful sea and farmland sides of the Island of Bohol, quickly turned into a few months terrible tragedy that devastated them, their families, and friends.

This storybook will take you through unusual situations, adventures, unexpected incidents, funny incidents, affinity relationships, and unexpected encounters.

This story recorded these unusual adventures. You, however, should decide whether you can possibly endure this mystical story.

The story is good. I used the dictionary to figure out the meaning of some words. Good education and adventure.

The novel is impressive. Culture, adventure, and learning. The affection and friendship are clearly shown. I was happy getting the book and reading it at once. The sad thing is the fact that Carlo went missing. Not sure if it is a path for a second book, hope so. Thumb up!

I was inspired by this book from the get-go. It only took me 2 days to read it. Very inspirational and exciting. Love the theme and it's easy to follow chapters. I learned more about the Philippines, its tradition and culture, and its amazing Chocolate Hills. Beautiful book. Thank you author I.G.

The story is impressive! It made me feel as if I am living on the Island of Bohol. The book depicts many incidents and details which made me imagine what was happening. I sincerely encourage the author to think of making it a movie, it will be interesting. This book is inspiring me to visit the country and the Chocolate Hills. Wished the author gave a clue regarding what has happened to Carlo or whether there will be a forthcoming book. I enjoyed your book immensely.

This is a nice fiction novel. I got the book from my aunt for the holidays. I am someone who likes to travel and found the story to be full of adventures in cultural and tourist settings. The Island of Bohol is now our family's place to visit as Covid eases up. The story made me live in a dream. I recommended it to even adults.

Very entertaining story. Lots of unexpected episodes, I found it interesting to me and to my sister. Hope there will be another book as the story ended with no one knowing what happened to Carlo? Overall, a good book, we've enjoyed it.

  • Andrew

The book is so impressive that forced me to read it at once. I am glad I learned about local customs and traditions that added beauty to the story and helped me immerse in it. I like the forged friendship and affection between the two friends. My imagination took me too far as I was reading. This is a beautiful story with unusual incidents and adventures. A real good book, happy I got it and will keep it.
