Rindy Womack Kirkman Recognized for Her Contribution to Child Reading by Charlotte Channel 3 WBTV

The author of Soggy Sophie, Rindy Womack Kirkman, was recognized for her efforts in promoting child reading in her community by the Charlotte Channel 3 WBTV. The channels blog page did a full one-page article on Kirkman, detailing her efforts in having local police officers take the time to read to children in her community. Rindy’s reading program helped to keep the children busy in the summer and allowed local community members and police officers to give back. Soggy Sophie is about a little girl who gets upset like all children do when they have bad days. The book talks about how children can embrace when they feel sad and mad and what they can do to address those feelings. Rindy Womak Kirkman is a storyteller at heart. As a child, she always loved narrating tales and stories to her friends and family. After the birth of her daughter, she realized how this love for storytelling was something she wanted to share with a wider audience. Soggy Sophie is her first book.
