Austin Macauley’s young and emerging author Leah Denbok was interviewed by The CBS News for her new thought-provoking book Nowhere to Call Home. In the interview, the 20-year-old Canadian photographer talked about her intentions behind taking pictures of the homeless in Toronto. She captured their faces as well as their stories to bring attention to their problems. For the complete interview visit. Nowhere to Call Home is a portrait of the lives of homeless people. Often people see them and ignore them and there is a disconnection between them and the homeless. Homeless people also have families, dreams, and desired like normal people. This book shares the stories of many homeless people across Toronto intending to gain attention for their problems. Since age 13 she has been traveling across many big cities with her dad to capture pictures of homeless people and bringing their stories to the world. Her career took off when she was interviewed by CBC in July 2017. She has been interviewed at many famous platforms and has received an award as well. She is currently pursuing her four-year photography course at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario.
