A Blind Kinda Love

Imagine if we were both blind and we fell in love based on a conversation. I would not know what you look like and I would have no choice but to fall in love with the things you say, your journey and your story. We all have a story to tell, And I want ours to be the most inspiring.

I imagine two people who both want the same thing, and never having met each other, they aspire to share their dreams and life’s plans together. I believe there are still amazing and incredible people out there who have been hurt so many times that they may have locked love in a vault using heavy chains. They may still believe that the only key to unlock the vault will be given to that special someone. So grant me this opportunity for us to speak before you make all observations based on my physical appearance.

Hear my story and judge me by my conversations first and let's give love a different name based on the things we hear and not what we see.

A Book Without a Title

This story, rooted in the stark realities of life, narrates the journey of a woman who faces more than mere setbacks. Her struggles take her to a place of profound darkness, akin to an encounter with the enigmatic Lucifer. In this world, where death masquerades as laughter, her tribulations forge a resilience and strength within her that nobody anticipated.

Believed to be lost, with little hope left by those around her, she finds a formidable strength within her own existence. She channels her pain into a powerful resolve to fight back, symbolically forging a sword from her suffering. Her tale is one of perseverance and existence against the odds. The captivating element of this story lies in its basis in reality. This is just the initial part of her story, marked by a constant tussle between hope in the daylight and the haunt of dark forces at night.

A Cold Case

It is a story about time and memory. The protagonist pieces together meaning from the evidence he encounters over a thirty-year time span: the first-person narrative that moves back and forth between the last years of the Cold War and the present. The novel explores overlapping milieus in Frankfurt whose uneasy coexistence sometimes erupts into violence: competing elements in the German underworld, the personalities and bureaucracies of German policing, American military personnel and military police, German and American academics. The reader shares the immediate experience of the American investigator, a former officer of the American Military Police who was once stationed in Frankfurt. The reader shares his reflections, as well, as the older man’s accumulated experience becomes a lens through which he views his younger self. The dramatic and violent events of the first investigation, interspersed with the calm and reflective atmosphere of the second search, create the novel’s particular rhythm.

A Day with a Killer

A Dog's Last Wish

Tommy is an old and ailing Labrador Retriever whose life is transformed when he finds himself young and fit, and able to speak English.

He meets his master Claude, who also feels rejuvenated, and they celebrate by walking and recounting their past adventures.

A leisurely stroll becomes a race against time when Claude realizes that they’re revisiting his past on the eve of a family tragedy.

Will they be able to avert the tragedy? Gradually, Tommy notices that his health is failing him again. Was his transformation fleeting?

A Doorway Into Thanks

Poetry should be transitive, and deal with something other. Thus, a doorway offers transition, liminal space, an invitation, a going across, into possibly numerous somethings other. We can’t assume, however, that the door is always open; if closed, we need to open it. A doorway can confront us: Have we the courage to reach for the handle? Given the horrors of 2020 and 2021, we must open the door both to grieving and thanksgiving. The poems here are midrashim. Midrash is a reflection on scripture. These poems first imagine passages and stories from the Bible and then reimagine them: they build stages, create, and breathe life into characters, and landscape biblical passages with new, often challenging, backgrounds. Many of the poems here have religio-political subtexts. The poems speak of darkness, the things that darken our country and our hearts, but they also speak of the life-giving lights of mystery, wonder, and thanksgiving, the things that give us hope. As writer and poet Louise Erdrich tells us, “This is how our lives complete themselves, / as effortless as weather, circles blaze / in ordinary days, and through our waking selves / they reach, to touch our true and sleeping speech.”

A Horny Gilf Named Erica

Erica is a sexually-enlightened mature housewife, known euphemistically as a Gilf.

Erica is engaged in an elicit relationship with a young lover named Terrence. She assumed her husband, Richard is clueless about her affair. That was until Richard surprised her one night and demands that she invites Terrence over for a chat. This opens a closet full of unresolved secrets neither wished to confront.

Questions of infidelity, distrust, and sexual desires arise, stemming from their past. Erica now faces pressing issues regarding what went wrong in her marriage, and whether it can possibly be saved. 

A Jewish Girl Saved Me

The novel is inspired by real incidents and events, the anguish that people have lived and are still experiencing due to conflicts, wars, and diaspora. It combines truth and fiction. The novel’s characters connect between them, taking us from the distant traumatic past to the immediate and more traumatic present.

The novel carries many facts for truth-seekers from Jews, Christians, Muslims, and others. It aims to urge the search for truth and answer many questions, some of which will remain open even after the end of the novel. These questions represent part of the doubts that many people have in our present reality.

However, the role of the truth-seeker will be to complete the process of research, which will be the cause of the beginning of the desired intellectual change phase that leads us to achieve freedom, peace, justice, and peaceful coexistence among all nations.

A Jigsaw Life

A Jigsaw Life is a series of short stories that are set in the deep South surrounding a woman named Violet, a mother who suffers from bipolar episodes and severe depression. Lilly, the oldest daughter, will use her beauty and charm to maneuver through a small Georgia town but this ultimately sets her up for tragedy in the end. Meanwhile, the youngest girl in the family, named Jane, must work her way out of the heavy cobwebs of dysfunction. As a further matter, Violet and Jane are left struggling to overcome these hardships in order to prosper or grow.

This is a collection of short southern stories that deal with flawed, and profound relationships, from the beginning with Jane, the child who must use her strength and creative energy to endure life with an unstable mother, and later she must learn to rise above her own father’s addiction. In other stories, as Jane grows into adulthood her romantic relationships are tested when boundaries are crossed and broken once more, wreaking havoc on the weak.

Will she rise or will she fall? Can Jane pick up the jigsaw pieces of a shattered life and find her way back home again?

A Journal Entry

Marina Flores captivates exactly what it means to grow up in a small town while being queer. Identity is often difficult to grapple with, not to mention the turmoil of denying one’s innermost desires, and small towns aren’t exactly known for having a whole lot of diversity.

A Journey Within Us

Life is complicated. As you delve deeper into your emotions and confront your fears, a certain sense of understanding evolves, fostering personal growth. Adversity often breeds creativity and strength; you just need to be prepared to open your heart and soul to the truth.

In this book of poetry, I expose my deepest, most personal thoughts to anyone who decides to read. The main work evolved from waking during the night and contemplating the river, trees, and birds at the bottom of the property where I lived. I entered a realm in my mind that had developed from a young age, where the intricate details of life – people, animals, plants, ideas, creativity, questions – fascinated me.

Music has always been a great solace for my mind, heart, and soul. Listening to some of the classic songwriters, I have always been amazed by the craft of their lyrics. I often dreamed of being a songwriter, finding incredible freedom in expressing thoughts and feelings on a day-to-day journey.
