Crystal Palace
In 1910, Charles Francis Richter was a very curious 10-year-old boy. His curiosity would one day lead to the creation of a way to measure the size of an earthquake. As a boy though, Charlie’s curiosity leads him on an adventure that introduces him to Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, Edwin Hubble, Robert Koch, Rudolf Diesel, and Joseph Tyrrell.
Travel with young Charlie Richter to Crystal Palace, in England, for a historical re-imagining of the greatest scientific exhibition of the 20th century that never actually happened, and explore some of the ideas that launched the modern world.

Close Friends' Cathedral Adventure
Peat, a toad, and Paul-Paulette, an earthworm, live in the woods beneath the roots of their friend, Christy, a Christmas fern. One day they are dug up and carried away. Christy is replanted in a pot large enough to hold Paul-Paulette, but Peat is too big to get in and cannot completely hide. He stays under Christy’s fronds, but can’t disappear.
Together with their wild flower friends, they are taken to the Washington National Cathedral to participate in the annual Festival of Flowers. While the plants are being carried into the cathedral, Peat is discovered, picked up and left in the Garth – the small, enclosed garden near the base of the stairs.
This is the story of the little toad’s adventure as he tries to find his plant and animal friends in the huge building. It is a tour of the cathedral and an introduction to cathedral architecture inside and out. A short glossary of architecture terms is included.

Can We Sing It Again?
Do you sometimes wish there was a song that went along with your favorite children’s story? Do you sometimes wish you had a fun and cute activity for your students to do?
Enclosed in this book are songs, some original and some classics, which lend themselves nicely to having something for children to hold. It is my experience that children have more fun in a lesson when there is something to actively do as opposed to simply listening to instruction. More fun will hopefully lead to better retention of the material taught! That is why this book was created.
Velcro, felt, and glue guns are your friends! You can find materials for creative manipulatives at department stores, craft aisles and just about anywhere. Copy these ideas or use them as a starting point for your own ideas for manipulatives. The songs and manipulatives are super easy and super helpful.
You will find your students singing these songs at various times throughout the day, to just start singing spontaneously. What a joy it is to hear children singing! And what a surprise when you hear what they remember!
I hope you enjoy this resource for many years!

Buto Meets His Famous Grandmother
Most parents start reading books to their children around two years old. At first, the characters tend to be imaginary or fanciful, encouraging virtues like sharing and tolerance. As reading skills advance, many kids gravitate toward more complicated, mystical stories over grounded tales. In my paediatric practice, I became convinced that reading content significantly impacts child development.
As I’ve seen with my grandchildren, reading shifts from fantasy to supernatural the older kids get, with less attention on relatable characters and environments. In writing Buto Meets His Famous Grandmother, I hope to bridge imaginative early reading to sophisticated young adult habits. The story features realistic figures for children to connect with as they transition into more complex fiction. All through the years of my paediatric practice, I was, and as I am now convinced the proper content of reading material plays an important role in children’s education and development.
