Doodles stream freely through the act of a dream and all form of creativity will arise along the path. This is the way of creative abandon. This is where the joy becomes magic, roaming free to build that joy into form. And this is where wishes can appear in tandem with the dreams.

Doodle Town arises this way when a small, irritated boy falls to sleep after failing to find the gift of joy through sketches made from a pen. But as he falls asleep, his wishes take shape in magical ways that delight us all. Whimsy takes its form and dreams just come to be.

It would seem that as frustration pulls up all the stops, where following our dreams will often bring in success. Life will bustle with wonder, color, and vibrant form as frustrations fades away.

Here in Doodle, that’s the way things go. Magic hinges on mental abandon.

So, journey along through your dreams and you’ll surely find your way.

Débonnaire Dog And Friends

What is the best way to learn about classic works of art? Some would say take classes or read books (as one of our characters B.O.B. might respond, “BOOOORRRRING!”). What about visiting the famous works in person with a few companions, all the while being pursued by what “appears” to be a famous chef who wants to make a classic French dish out of you?!

Learning alongside his human companion Mademoiselle Clarisse, our chief character Débonnaire Dog knows his art and the famous sites. He has panache, he has flair, he is Débonnaire! Above all, he has a heart of gold meant for service and kindness to others. Alas, he has been separated from Clarisse and must find her!

Separated from their human companions as well, a funny bunny named B.O.B. and Dottie the lamb aid in the quest to have them all reunited. They look for clues at some famous museums and sites – at each stop we get some answers and hints and learn about a famous work of art to boot. And why not eat some great classic food along the way?

Daddy Said I Need a Parachute

Close Friends' Cathedral Adventure

Peat, a toad, and Paul-Paulette, an earthworm, live in the woods beneath the roots of their friend, Christy, a Christmas fern. One day they are dug up and carried away. Christy is replanted in a pot large enough to hold Paul-Paulette, but Peat is too big to get in and cannot completely hide. He stays under Christy’s fronds, but can’t disappear.

Together with their wild flower friends, they are taken to the Washington National Cathedral to participate in the annual Festival of Flowers. While the plants are being carried into the cathedral, Peat is discovered, picked up and left in the Garth – the small, enclosed garden near the base of the stairs.

This is the story of the little toad’s adventure as he tries to find his plant and animal friends in the huge building. It is a tour of the cathedral and an introduction to cathedral architecture inside and out. A short glossary of architecture terms is included.

Cambridge and Clyde

Buto Meets His Famous Grandmother

Most parents start reading books to their children around two years old. At first, the characters tend to be imaginary or fanciful, encouraging virtues like sharing and tolerance. As reading skills advance, many kids gravitate toward more complicated, mystical stories over grounded tales. In my paediatric practice, I became convinced that reading content significantly impacts child development.

As I’ve seen with my grandchildren, reading shifts from fantasy to supernatural the older kids get, with less attention on relatable characters and environments. In writing Buto Meets His Famous Grandmother, I hope to bridge imaginative early reading to sophisticated young adult habits. The story features realistic figures for children to connect with as they transition into more complex fiction. All through the years of my paediatric practice, I was, and as I am now convinced the proper content of reading material plays an important role in children’s education and development.
