Children's Author Karin Gertsch to Hold Her Book Reading Event Locally
The author of the popular children’s book Flora Has an Adventure, Karin Gertsch is going to hold a small book reading event at her local public library in Essex on Friday, the 24th of January, 2020. The author is looking to welcome swathes of children as the little fans of her book and has fun activities planned for all the age-appropriate children. She welcomes all the parents and families living in or around Essex county to attend that is guaranteed to make up a memorable evening for your lovely children. The event is planned to be held at 6 PM in the evening.   The book tells the story of Flora, an American chicken who goes on an adventure with Marge, the farmer’s wife. The rest of Flora’s flock is on the Feather Field Farm. While the rest of the flock wonders why Flora was taken away and where is she going? Flora enjoys the ride throughout the journey. Flora is a special chicken and Marge discovers something unique about her when Flora displays it to the children in Essex. The colourful illustrations highlight the important issue of diversity among hens thus also teaching the children about harmony and inclusiveness. The author lives on a Christmas tree farm in New England with her family, a Scottish terrier named Misty, and a friendly flock of chickens.
