Author Karin Gertsch to Do Her Book Reading in Manchester
The book Flora Has an Adventure has proved to be an instant hit among the children. Due to growing interest and recognition in local communities, the author, Karin Gertsch, has decided to do another book reading, this time at the Memorial School, Manchester. What’s a better venue to do a children’s book reading than a children’s school? Safe to say, we are excited about this event as much as the children and are sure that it’s going to be a great hit with them at the school. This book tells the story that Flora, an American chicken goes on an adventure with Marge, the farmer’s wife. The rest of Flora’s flock is on the the Feather Field Farm. While the rest of the flock wonders why Flora was taken away and where is she going? Flora enjoys the ride throughout the journey. Flora is a special chicken and Marge discovers something unique about her when Flora displays it to the children in Essex. The colorful illustrations highlight the important issue of diversity among hens thus also teaching the children about harmony and inclusiveness. The author lives on a Christmas tree farm in New England with her family, a Scottish terrier named Misty, and a friendly flock of chickens.
