A Day of Infamy Revisited

Tragic events can often be the catalyst and inspiration for the creation of meaningful works of art. In this case, it was the September 11th catastrophe of 2001 which provided the stimulus that would ultimately lead me down a totally unforeseen path, revealing an attitude never previously observed. Other than a proclivity for drawing geometric shapes, no artistic tendencies had even been evident.

The one constant theme in my work is the recurring use of nines and elevens to generate images. Other symbols and characters are also employed; sometimes intentional, sometimes not.

People who have explored my world have seen different things. Take the journey and see what you can uncover. Remember, in the future, be open to the possibility that sometimes unexpected abilities can appear anytime in one’s life. Be ready to embrace the opportunity these possibilities present and take them down your own personal road of discovery.

Pharmaceuticals can have harsh side-effects, and many times pharmaceuticals cannot be used to treat certain types of illness. I have worked with many patients with varying ailments and health concerns, treating them with natural or homeopathic remedies. From my experience working with these patients, it is evident that, when used properly and with insight, natural and homeopathic prescriptions can work as well or even better than conventional medicine and pharmaceuticals. This book is not meant to replace your family physician, but it is a guide to healthier living through wiser food consumption. I believe if people used naturopathic and homeopathic remedies, overall health would increase and the need to go to doctors, specialists, and surgeons would decline significantly. About Mr. Higgins:

In 2014, the authors David Preece and Jim Webber adopted a black Scottish terrier who was a shy, nervous, and somewhat suspicious mid-life rescue dog. ‘Mr. Higgins’ (the fitting name he came to us with) gradually emerged from his shell and enjoyed his new life in his forever home. Still, on guard with most strangers, Mr. Higgins learned to return love while protecting his home and keeping his dads to their daily routines. Not a fan of pats on the head, ‘Higgins’ prefers a light touch on his sides and burrowing into a safe space. He loves walks, other dogs, treats, and – as a born outfielder – plays fetch.

In this book of poetry, I expose my deepest, most personal thoughts to anyone who decides to read. The main work evolved from waking during the night and contemplating the river, trees, and birds at the bottom of the property where I lived. I entered a realm in my mind that had developed from a young age, where the intricate details of life – people, animals, plants, ideas, creativity, questions – fascinated me.

Music has always been a great solace for my mind, heart, and soul. Listening to some of the classic songwriters, I have always been amazed by the craft of their lyrics. I often dreamed of being a songwriter, finding incredible freedom in expressing thoughts and feelings on a day-to-day journey.
