When fourteen-year-old Hannah arrives in the ninth grade in the middle of the school year, the students quickly realize that she is not like everyone else. One of her classmates, Cyndy, becomes curious about Hannah’s strange behavior, her short memory, and her even shorter temper. Little by little, the two girls become friends. Cyndy helps Hannah with a Social Studies project. When Hannah delivers her presentation, the story she tells shocks everyone.

How did Hannah’s story affect her classmates?
What did they do to help her?

This is a short, well-written book that every young adult should read. It exposes the world that young people experience in schools everywhere. Frequently, the consequences of their actions can hurt others, yet they can be completely oblivious to them.

Bravo! This book is what our children need right now. Peace by Piece is about diversity, understanding, acceptance, and basic human dignity. I can't wait to give this book out as gifts for Christmas.

An enjoyable read with a very important message. So many students struggle with the issues addressed in this book. I hope that this book becomes required reading for middle school-aged students. Parents, teachers, counsellors, and administrators will learn from the message in this book.
