Contained in this book are 50+ stories of actual events told exactly how they happened to the author. The stories span more than 30 years in the field of law enforcement. They cover everythingfrom answering the phone to murder investigations. The author’s truest intention is to tell the stories so that people might better understand the day-to-day life of a police officer. As often as possible, the stories are told in a humorous manner because we all deserve to laugh. The author hopes that this book might inspire one good man or woman to take up the shield. In today’s world of miscommunication and misunderstanding, the author hopes that somehow, somewhere, a dialogue might open that wasn’t there before.

Norman Duchesneau has worked in law enforcement since he was 19 years old. His career has wound its way through many roles: call taker, cadet, patrolman, investigator, detective, and trainer. Of all of these, he is most proud to have been a patrolman because it was that role where he was able to affect the most lives, and believes that he helped the most people. It is also where he has had the most fun.He loves his family and pets, and credits his wife, Michelle, with much of his success. “It is because she believes in me that I find the courage to do what I do,” he often says.Norman is a nerd and wears that badge as proudly as his police badge. He loves comics and superheroes—Batman most specifically. His on-going love of Tabletop RPGs has lasted longer that his career. It started before and if he has any say in the matter will continue beyond. He still works the streets, and if it is late at night, when you read this, he may well be patrolling his city now. He hopes you laugh as you read this. He does love to get a laugh.

A truly inspiring, fascinating and somewhat amusing account of the life of a police officer. The author's many years of dedicated service tells a true story of this complex, perilous, but yet rewarding profession. A must read for anyone who enjoys an honest narrative of law enforcement from every angle. Once you begin the journey, you will find it hard to put it down!

I bought the book and would recommend it to everyone. I enjoyed the stories Norman wrote in this book. The stories were excellent as well as funny and true. Norman has a very good eye as a cop where he also applies very good humour to the everyday stresses of the police job he holds and now as a supervisor. Excellent at making things stand out in written words and able to make people see through the writing what he really means. Great storyteller Norman!!! Good luck the rest of the way and look forward to more books published by you. Thanks for bringing back memories for me through your writing, awesome book to read and reflect.
