Once an internationally certified meditation teacher, professional musician, concert technician, and trained audio engineer/music producer, Gary Morissette’s life took a dramatic turn when a tragic accident left him a ventilator-dependent quadriplegic. Now, he shares his powerful self-help method for mental wellness, interwoven with an autobiographical collection of his lyrics.

Gary lived a rollercoaster lifestyle, battling drug addiction and the resulting mental health struggles. Through meditation, affirmations, journaling, inspiration, and creative expression, he found a path to healing and resilience. Mind Over Madness offers readers a guide to resetting their own minds and finding inner peace.

Gary Morissette was born in Trail, BC, Canada. He started playing guitar and writing songs at the age of nine years old. In Fruitvale, BC, he grew up as the village troubadour. He learned his first meditation at the age of 16. Gary graduated from high school and received a diploma in audio engineering from the Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna, BC. As an adult, he has spent his time performing music, touring Canada and Asia, writing over 1000 songs/poems, working for the largest touring acts in the world, and continuing his studies of meditation. At age 34, Gary was internationally certified to teach meditation by Master Dev Om, India. The following year, Gary survived a four-story balcony fall in Vancouver, BC. He is now a quadriplegic who breathes with a ventilator. Gary Morissette wrote this book using voice control on an iPad at the age of 37, just two years after his accident. He writes his songs/poetry about what he knows – sex, drugs, rock ‘n’ roll, and love. He also writes meditations and affirmations.
