Life has thrown a lot at Emma, is it any wonder she has found solace in the bottom of a bottle? Knowing she had to find a way back to the present, Emma fights her way to the surface only to find that love and future is steeped in the past.

Dan was not looking for love when he went to DC to fight for the release of his ships. However, one look at the woman sitting across from him and he knew she was the part of him he had been searching for. His missing piece. Now, to convince someone he’d just met, someone with an obvious distaste for human connection, that she could not live without him.

Penny Benjamin was born and raised in central Alberta. Surviving a serious car accident when hit by a drunk driver, she came out of the coma to find herself on her own at the age of sixteen, until meeting her partner, when at eighteen, together they rebuilt their lives. Eventually Penny balanced a successful career in real estate with a loving relationship and family which included their two sons and numerous animal rescues. Throughout it all, Penny found peace in writing and an escape in dreaming. With her first full length novel Linked she invites us all to take a journey with her.

This is a great book because it is more relevant to getting over depression and stress than making such things grow into useful beautiful things in plentiful ways. This book is a really surprising encouragement and vindicator for getting through these hard times. I don't do spoilers so I will shut up now. However, if anyone wants to enjoy the best living through the small things then read this book.

I really love the way that Penny Benjamin writes. Her words are captivating and thought-provoking pulling you in from the very first page. I love the honesty and vulnerability shown in "Linked" her debut novel. Emma's character is written so well and I found myself rooting for her & her journey to happiness. What a great read!

Emma’s life has taken a turn for the worse. To deal with recent events, she becomes a regular at the bar near her home. Dan crosses her path when his cargo ships are held up due to a technicality. The connection is undeniable as Emma works to resolve the problem. Dan just has to convince Emma that they’re meant to be together. Following Emma as she works to heal from her pain through the eyes of Emily, her dreamtime companion, is such a neat journey. It's rather unlike any book that you'll find on the market. It's also worth adding that Dan is a hero you'll fall in love with. He's incredibly patient and theirs is a spicy love story that you will want to revisit.

This is not the type of book I would normally read, but I actually really enjoyed it. It's a well constructed romance novel with strong characters and the right blend of story-telling and, I suppose, spicy-ness. I don't think I have ever read anything set in Washington DC which made a nice change too.

Introducing her character, Emma, you can’t help but feel the exuberance in Penny’s writing even for such a tragic subject. Her prose is colorful, humorous, and bright. Following Emma’s journey offers solace to those in similar circumstances and is a bright spot for those who need a lift. A chance meeting, a connection are all it takes to change your life and Penny takes full advantage of this theme to shine a dazzling light into the gloom that fate has made Emma’s lot. Benjamin skillfully pulls the readers along on Emma’s passage from despair to happiness. A romance, hallmark style, Emma and Dan start out, not hating each other, but certainly on opposite sides of the fence. From angry passion comes more passion. Many will find catharsis in Emma and Dan’s journey. Will there be a happy resolution or…you will have to read on to find out. Highly Recommended.

I love a success stotu. Emma struggles with alcoholism and he struggles to make her his. I've never read a story involving shipping like this, so that's what initially grabbed my interest. Excellent job building frustration — just take her! Say this to her! Grab the paperback.
