Born in the city of Calcutta, from India, Bharati Chowdhury got her Bachelor’s degree from Presidency College. She was awarded a University medal for her first-class Master’s degree in Economics from Calcutta University. She got another MSc degree from Birkbeck College, University of London, where she worked as a part-time lecturer for several years. Bharati worked as an Assistant Professor of Economics in Bethune College, India for twenty years and she was a Lecturer of Economics at the University of Westminster in London for twenty-five years. She was invited as a poet and joined in the Literary Seminar five times in the USA and Canada in North America Bengali Conference. Her name was published in the Who’s Who International, 2011. Bharati published five books of short stories and poems in Bengali, all were displayed in Calcutta book fair for several years. Recently, she has published a book titled Treasure Trove of Five Mysterious Short Tales by Austin Macauley from England in June 2020. She regularly contributes her poems and short stories in journals published in the USA and India. She appeared in a television interview two times in Calcutta for her literary performance. Bharati has dedicated her retired life to writing and shining in the literary world. She is a singer and good at recitation. She participated in musical soirees and recited poetry in London and India.
