After many years lost in space, very far from Earth, human explorers arrive in an unknown galaxy and settle in an uninhabited corner of it. We find the human colonists divided and living on different planets, over five hundred years later. A young farmer and his telepathic animal friend team up with a bioengineered detective to retrace their hidden history, venturing into the remotest part of the galaxy against all advice. They find unexpected answers on an ancient world under a dying red sun, but the greatest challenge remains - how to heal the splintered cultures and reunite the xenophobic colonists after so many centuries of separation.

A wonderful, imaginative read. I obtained this book a few months ago.. Reading has been my passion for most of a century. Yet, science fiction was not my favorite genre. Susannah Israel's captivating book has gone a long way in altering my hierarchy of reads. Like the opening scene of the first Star Wars movie, Ms. Israel's Prologue grabbed my attention. When it was revealed that two ships had been in travel status for nearly fifty years and were forty earth years late in reaching their destination, it became a guarantee that this book would not be set aside. Vivid, clear, colorful descriptions of characters, planets, creatures, environments and scenery began in The Binaries: Blue and Stone chapter. This flavor of engaging narrative continued throughout the remaining blocks of topics. Human interest elements, points of the Ol' West, features of impossible Lord of the Ring warfare odds, truth and justice of Grapes of Wrath, all permeate this great read by Susannah Israel. I couldn't put it down. # Couldnt Put It Down
