Celebrate Children’s Book Week with our Delightful Reads

Giving your child access to a variety of literature plays a significant role in their success. It is the responsibility of parents, educators, and community members to help nurture the love and passion for reading. With an aim to promote higher quality in children’s books, Franklin K. Matthiews, the librarian of the Boy Scouts of America, proposed creating a Children’s Book Week in 1919. Today, it is acknowledged as one of the longest-running national literacy initiatives, as events are held nationwide in libraries, schools, and bookstores to encourage and promote the love of book reading among children. It is a week-long awareness campaign that takes place twice a year with a theme, from May 4th to 10th and November 9th to 15th. This year’s official theme is Read. Dream. Share.

There are countless values of reading books for kids as it provides an avenue to promote their brain development and help them to build their language and literacy. The encouraging texts and colorful illustrations not only prompt rich discussions but they also provide valuable lessons. Amid the coronavirus pandemic and everyone practicing self-isolation, parents can celebrate this event at home with our fine collection of books for children that are fun and educational to read.
