Vincey Watt was born in Drumquin, Co Tyrone, in 1956. His family moved to Omagh, Co Tyrone, in 1966. He was educated by the Christian Brothers for a while, leaving school when he was sixteen to work on the building sites in London.Returning to Omagh at nineteen, he broke his neck in a demolition job as a result of an IRA bomb at the Town Hall.Whilst recovering from a broken neck, he developed manic depression. Learning to live with this condition, he then completed a thirty-year career in psychiatric nursing. He began writing after retiring.
