Elizabeth Howie Thrift was born on March 12, 1977, in Thomasville, NC, the second of three children and only daughter. She was a joyful child who loved playing with others or entertaining herself with a vivid imagination. Her love of art manifested at an early age. She completed school with better than average success and earned her degree in art as a young adult. Elizabeth had a successful art career, married before 30 and had two sons. An unhappy marriage ended in divorce and set the tone for the remainder of her life. Death came too early at 46 years of age.
