Rebecca Jo Slayden-McMahan
Rebecca Jo Slayden-McMahan has had a fifty-year teaching career in Clarksville, Montgomery County, and as a teacher educator at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. Her undergraduate and graduate work was completed at Austin Peay State University, and she received a Doctor of Education degree from Vanderbilt University in 1984. Rebecca has previously published two other books with Austin Macauley: Grinnin’ Like a Jenny Eatin’ Saw Briars and Let Me Tell You a Story. Rebecca is an avid sailor, owning a 33.5’ Hunter sailboat moored at Portman Marina on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, S.C. She is an active member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary in Flotilla 25 of District 7 at Hartwell Lake. Rebecca and her two sons live in Anderson. Jonathan McMahan is a ranger with the Corps of Engineers at Lake Russell, Georgia. Christopher McMahan is a statistics professor at Clemson University.
