Jean-Claude Perdriel was born in France, the son of a French mother and a French-Mauritian father, lived in that country until his teens, then on the island of Mauritius, East and Southern Africa, the U.K., where he met his first wife while serving in the British Navy, and where their children were born. He and his family reside in Western Canada.
